Nordic Walking
Currently very popular in Europe and gaining popularity here in the UK fast. As Fit As offers Nordic Walking on a one to one or small group level.
Nordic Walking is more effective than normal walking. The use of poles means your upper body is incorporated into your workout. The poles help to propel your body forward faster which means you are working faster than you feel you are doing.
The technique is different from the style you see from people with trekking poles. If you would like to learn the technique please contact me so you can get the most from your Nordic Walking session.
Cost is £40 per session one to one lasting 1 hour. Poles are provided. Small groups of up to 6 people are £50 (shared cost).

Testimonials
"Liz's powerwalking classes are an excellent way to keep fit. They are a great way to meet local people, are held outdoors and give you a really good workout. Liz has a really friendly and helpful manner and is always encouraging. Learning the correct powerwalking technique has transformed my normal walking style into vigorous exercise - the difference is quite amazing." Angie M
"I was there at the very beginning of Liz's 'mums bums and tums' class a couple of years ago when she actually started them in in my back room with just 5 ladies. Due to huge popularity, it had to move to the east Dulwich community centre, where every week, an average of 15 women stretch, jump, run, pump, dance, and have a good laugh. I have noticed a huge difference in my level of fitness because of it, but the main reason I love it, is because of the relaxed vibe that Liz creates. It's really good fun, but she makes sure we sweat and have a really good workout...
It's such a great way to start off the week, and after the class there's always the chance for a good gossip over a well earned tea and biscuit or two. " Tina G
"Liz's Mums, Bums & Tums class is a great kick-start to the day - it's good fun and before I know it I've worked really hard for a whole hour. I really enjoy the exercises we do with our weights and I'm starting to see the results. Using the weights has definitely helped strengthen my back which was really achey and weak after breast-feeding." Ruth S
"Bums and tums has been brilliant for me... You feel like you get a total body work out, doing similar exercises each week so they are familiar but varied so you are not bored. We use weights and stretchy bands,as well as running round the playground. The atmosphere is serious but friendly and light hearted it's a good way to start the week!!" Roz C
"As someone who absolutely does NOT think of herself as a fitness freak ...- this class is great. It's challenging but not terrifying because it's very friendly and Liz encourages you to stretch yourself but not harm yourself... so you can start at your own pace, hope to improve, and take inspiration from the people who have been doing it for a while and don't look like a beetroot at the end of every class...." Ruth B
"I have been coming to Liz's Monday morning exercise for nearly 2 years now. I really didn't have much fitness before the class but I now can't imagine a week without doing something 'fit' related! I have now completed 2 x 5k runs, 2 x 10k runs and am about to run my first (and last!) ever Half Marathon, all thanks to Liz. Several of us have really noticed a change in our bodies and certainly our belts!
Liz is so encouraging and friendly. There's nothing snooty about the class, no leotards or sweaty lycra, no mirrors or complicated routines just straight high energy, exhausting, aerobic exercise...I've met several new people at the class and once we've all finished there is of course the cuppa and a cookie, which is well deserved! I would recommend Liz's class whole heartedly - you wont regret signing up! Enjoy - she's brilliant!!" Sally R
