This course is aimed at total beginners. Our first session will be very gentle and all you will be required to do is repetitions of run one minute and walk one minute.
Each week the intensity and duration of your running intervals will increase. The goal is that you will be able to run for 25 minutes without stopping by the end of the 6 weeks.

This course is aimed at people who can run for 25 mins (roughly 3miles or 5K) without needing to stop. Each week the intensity of your running will increase. The goal is that you will be able to run for 10K without stopping by the end of the 6 weeks. This is roughly getting on for an hour of running which is very good.
In addition to distance we will also do interval training, hill training and focus on running technique (not all in the same session!). All resulting in better running results for you.

"I must admit I was skeptical that anyone could get me running for 25 minutes, let alone enjoying it, but I was amazed at how rapidly and visibly I progressed. I had joined the class to get fit and lose a bit of weight, but I ended up much calmer, happier, and sleeping better too." - Lucy
"For a guy looking to get back to a good level of fitness it was a great way to start and found the level of exercise just about right. The homework helped keep us motivated and being part of a group spurred us on to get the results."- Stuart
"At the last session of the course we were all swapping notes on how much better running made us feel and the fact that the mental benefits are possibly even greater than the physical ones - we are less stressed for sure! I'm looking forward to getting up to 10k next!" - Angela
"Having started running again after the birth of my daughter, I did iLiz's ntermediate course. It really focussed my running and the homework motivated me to go out running midweek when normally I might have made excuses not to bother. After doing the course I signed up for a half-marathon and then used one of Liz's training plans to prepare for it. The course is challenging but is very friendly and there is plenty of variation in people's fitness so that you don't ever feel intimidated." - Ros
"A huge thank you for your running sessions. You create a really fun and friendly atmosphere and I have really enjoyed them. I shall be recommending them to all!!!" - Lynda
You will be required to run by yourself (or with some of your new running friends) on two additional days each week. This means you must be able to commit to your new plan. Your additional runs will be given to you as homework sheets so you know how long you should be going out for.
